Knox  18  Jimtown  17: 
 
Knox  35  Kouts  18:   The Lady Redskins once again played stellar on the defensive end, limiting the Kouts Phillies to just 18 points for the game.  The win improves the girls to 10-3 on the year and 3-0 in the NSC. All seven girls who saw action in the game were able to crack the scoring column.  Rachel Lenig led the way with 10 points and 5 rebounds on the night.  Torie Elliott played another solid game with 7 points.  Miranda Shepherd had another good all around game with 6 points, 3 rebounds,and 3 assists.  Azure Conner scored 4 points and had 3 steals.  Sarah Hodge chipped in with 4 points. Kazia Stacy and Brittany Fletcher rounded out the scoring by each scoring 2 points.  The Lady Redskins travel to Jimtown on Saturday morning where they look to improve to 4-0 in the NSC!
 
Knox  31  Hanover  13:   The Lady Redskins dominated the second half, outscoring the host Lady Wildcats 20-5 enroute to a 31-13 victory in the Championship Game of the Hanover Winter Classic!  Miranda Shepherd  led the way in scoring with 13 points to go along with an incredible 7 steals.  Rachel Lenig once again had a great night with season high 12 rebounds to go along with 8 points.  Torie Elliott played another solid game with 8 points and 5 rebounds.  Sarah Hodge did not score but hauled down a very impressive 9 rebounds in the contest.  Ashley Kreiger rounded out the scoring with 2 points on the night.  Miranda Shepherd and Rachel Lenig were both named to the All-tournament Team.  Rachel was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.  These awards were voted on by all coaches and officials.  Congratulations girls!  The win improves the Junior Varsity's record to 9-3.  Next up is a tough game with Kouts!
 
Knox  23  Griffith  13:   A suffocating defense was definitely the key to the Lady Redskins earning a trip to the Championship game of the Hanover Winter Classic with a 23-13 victory over the Griffith Lady Panthers.  Rachel Lenig had a great game scoring 11 points and hauling down 9 rebounds.  Torie Elliott played a solid game, contributing 5 points and 4 rebounds.  Miranda Shepherd continued her strong play at the point guard position by scoriing 4 points and committing only 2 turnovers.  Sarah Hodge hauled down 5 rebounds to go along with 2 points.  The girls' hope to get revenge when they face Hanover Central in the shampionship game.  The hosts Lady Wildcats defeated the Lady Redskins in the championship a year ago!  It should be an exciting contest this time as well.
 
Knox  43  Wheeler  13:   The Lady Redskins opened play in the Hanover Winter Classic with a dominating victory over the Wheeler Bearcats.  Azure Conner came off the bench hot enroute to a 16 point performance.  Rachel Lenig also scored in double figures with 11 points to go along with 5 rebounds.  Kazia Stacy, Miranda Shepherd and Brittany Fletcher each chipped in with 4 points a piece.  THe girls' will face a very tough Griffith squad in the second round of the tournament.
 
Knox  41  KV  50:  The Lady Redskins fought hard to the finish, but were just overmatched by a very good KV team in a 50-41 loss.  Despite the loss, Rachel Lenig had an unbelievable performance.  Rachel poured in a career high 20 points to go along with 7 rebounds.  Azure Conner had her best game of the season contributing 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Torie Elliott played well, scoring 7 points and hauling down 5 rebounds.  Sarah Hodge rounded out the scoring with 2 points.  The loss drops the Lady Redskins record to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the NSC.  The girls hope to have a strong week of practice in preperation for the Hanover Holiday tournament which takes place on December 28-29.  Wheeler will be the girls first round opponent.
 
Knox  23  Bremen  18:  The girls knew going in that this game would be of huge importance in their chances of winning the NSC.  Their goal of an NSC Championship is still a possiblility, due to a 23-18 come from behind victory at Bremen.  The girls outscored the Lady Lions 11-2 in the fourth quarter!  Leading the way for the Lady Redskins was Rachel Lenig with 8 points and 8 rebounds.  Torie Elliott, Sarah Hodge and Azure Conner each contributed 4 points in the contest.  Rounding out the scoring was Miranda Shepherd with 3 points.  The girls improved to 6-2 on the year and 3-0 in the NSC.
 
Knox  35  Culver  7:   The Lady Redskins improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the NSC with a dominating 35-7 victory over the host Lady Cavalliers.  Azure Conner had her best game of the year, leading the team in scoring with 11 points to go along with 5 steals.  Rachel Lenig just missed her second "double/double" of the season scoring 10 points and hauling down a game high 9 rebounds.  Torie Elliot chipped in with 7 points and 4 rebounds.  Miranda Shepherd bounced back from a tough game against O-D with a great all around game.  Miranda scored 5 points, dished out a season high 7 assists, pulled down 6 rebounds and had 5 steals.  Rounding out the scoring was Sarah Hodge with 2 points.  The girls are next in action on Thursday night when they travel to Bremen for another NSC game!
 
Knox  21  O-D  45:   One team showed up ready to play at the tip of this game and unfortunately it wasn't the Lady Redskins.  Oregon-Davis roared out of the gate and established a 31-5 lead by the half.  The Lady Redskins played much better in the second half, but the deficit was too great to overcome as they fell 45-21.  Rachel Lenig was the only bright spot for the Lady Redskins, scoring a team high 13 points to go along with a team high 8 rebounds.  Sarah Hodge chipped in 5 points in the contest.  Azure Conner contributed 2 points and 2 steals.  Rounding out the scoring was Torie Elliott with 1 point.  The girls hope to bounce back tomorrow morning when they travel to Culver for an NSC game.
 
Knox  32  CGA  22:   The Lady Redskins outscored the host Lady Eagles 22-12 in the second half enroute to a 32-22 victory.  Sarah Hodge led the way in scoring with 10 points to go along with 5 rebounds.  Rachel Lenig continued her strong play with 7 points and a team high 10 rebounds.  Torie Elliott had a solid performance with 7 points and 6 rebounds.  Miranda Shepherd had a team high 5 steals to go along with 4 points.  Kazia Stacy and Kindrick Joseph rounded out the scoring with 2 points a piece.
 
Knox  31  Triton  22:   The Lady Redskins raced out of the gate and took a commanding 14-3 lead at the end of the first quarter enroute to a 31-22 victory over the Triton Lady Trojans in both teams NSC opener.  Once again, it was Rachel Lenig leading the way with an impressive 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists on the night.  Torie Elliott played her best game of the year thus far by contributing 9 points and 6 rebounds.  Miranda Shepherd once again had a nice all around night with 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.  Sarah Hodge and Brittany Fletcher rounded out the scoring with 4 and 1 point respectively.  The girls will return to the hardwood on Monday night when they travel to Culver Girls Academy!
 
Knox 18  Northridge 28:  The Northridge Lady Raiders used a suffocating man to man defense to force 23 Lady Redskins turnovers as the Lady Redskins suffered their first loss on the season.  Rachel Lenig continued her strong season by scoring 5 points and hauling down 6 rebounds.  Torie Elliot contributed 3 points and 3 rebounds on the night.  Miranda Shepherd, Kazia Stacy, Sarah Hodge, Brittany Fletcher, and Kindrick Joseph each scored 2 points in the contest.  The girls hope to bounce back from a tough defeat when they take the floor for their NSC opener againt Triton on December 3.
 
Knox 32  Rensselaer 17:  Rachel Lenig had a remarkable night, recording her first career "double/double" scoring 10 points and hauling down 10 rebounds.  Miranda Shepherd continued her strong play by notching 8 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals.  "Super Sub," Azure Conner came off the bench and had another strong performance with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.  Torie Elliott contributed 4 rebounds to go along with 3 points.  Rounding out the scoring were Kazia Stacy and Sarah Hodge, each scoring 2 points.  The girls face one of their toughest tests of the season Friday, Nov. 18 when they make the trip to Northridge to face the Lady Raiders.
 
Knox 43  Winamac 17:  The Lady Redskins used a smothering defense and balanced scoring attack to start the 2010/2011 season off with a win over Winamac.  Sarah Hodge led the way in scoring with 12 points to go along with 4 rebounds.  Rachel Lenig notched 9 points and 3 steals.  Miranda Shepherd played a great all around game with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals.  Azure Conner provided a spark off the bench with 8 points and 2 steals.  Torie Elliott and Kindrick Joseph rounded out the scoring with 3 and 2 points apiece.  Kazia Stacy was unable to score on the night, but played a great game on the defensive end by notching 4 steals.  Next up for the Lady Redskins is a trip to Rensselaer to face the Lady Bombers.
